Last November, we reported that the Ford Mustang Mach-E First Edition had sold out, a fact that The Blue Oval later confirmed. But now, much like it decided to double 2021 Ford Bronco First Edition production following extreme demand, it now appears that FoMoCo will also build more Mach-E First Edition examples as well.
Ford has not announced exactly how many more First Editions it will build, and those who missed out the first time won’t be able to reserve one through the automaker’s site like before. Instead, FoMoCo is teaming up with a variety of social platforms and retailers to divvy up these additional models.
The first such platform is Uncrate, a site that sells all sorts of things like apparel, grooming supplies, and tech. The Mach-E First Edition examples up for grabs there are all finished in Carbonized Gray with red brake calipers, brushed aluminum pedal covers, “First Edition” scuff plates, and Black Onyx perforated ActiveX upholstery with unique ST-Red line accent stitching. Uncrate has a “limited number” of Mach-Es available for the sum of $59,900.
In addition to Uncrate, Ford will also be selling more First Editions through a variety of other platforms in the coming days, including Spotify. The concept is similar to the types of exclusive merchandise drops we see from high-end clothing and shoe makers, enticing buyers to act quickly to secure something that’s produced in limited quantities.
Like all First Editions, these additional examples will all come with all-wheel-drive and dual electric motors producing a combined 346 horsepower with an estimated 270 mile range. While those who thought they had a limited collectible on their hands might be disappointed by this production extension, it does give the select group who missed out the first time another shot at bringing a Mach-E First Edition home.
We’ll have more on the Mach-E soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Mustang Mach-E news and non-stop Ford news coverage.
