Ford Motor Company Korea Sales Decrease 12 Percent In July 2020

Ford Motor Company Korea sales decreased 12 percent to 672 units in July 2020 compared to July 2019 results. Sales fell at both FoMoCo brands – Ford and Lincoln.

Brand & Model Sales

Ford sales decreased 4 percent to 483 units:

Ford Explorer sales decreased 13.17 percent to 402 units
Ford Mondeo sales totaled 17 units
Ford Mustang sales increased 56.1 percent to 64 units

Lincoln sales decreased 27 percent to 189 units:

Lincoln Aviator sales totaled 21 units
Lincoln Continental sales decreased 16.36 percent to 46 units
Lincoln Corsair sales totaled 9 units
Lincoln MKZ sales increased 14.08 percent to 81 units
- The model has been discontinued
Lincoln Nautilus sales decreased 69.81 percent to 32 units
Lincoln does not market the Navigator in South Korea

During the first seven months of the 2020 calendar year, Ford Motor Company Korea sales increased 2 percent to 5,623 units.

The Ford Authority Take

After showing signs of recovery during the last few prior, Ford Motor Company Korea sales decreased once again in July. Although both brands suffered losses in sales volume, last month’s negative result was driven by the 27 percent drop in Lincoln sales.

The decrease in July is primarily due to poor performance of the automaker’s two best-selling models in South Korea – the Ford Explorer and Lincoln Nautilus. Both crossovers suffered notable double-digit drops during the month.

There is, however, some green in the sea of red, specifically for the Ford Mustang muscle car as well as the Lincoln MKZ midsize luxury sedan. The former saw sales grow 56, while the latter grew sales 14 percent.
