Ford Ranger buyers will have several new options and features to choose from for the 2021 model year, as we’ve covered in recent days. Now, we have another to add to the list. Ford Authority has learned that the 2021 Ford Ranger will offer a new STX Special Edition Package. Though no photos of the new package are available just yet, we do have all the details regarding what it will consist of.
The 2021 Ford Ranger STX Special Edition Package will be optional on XL High (101A) versions of the mid-size pickup. The XL Ranger splits out into two equipment groups – Standard (100A) and High (101A). This is actually true of most Ford trim levels, as each trim typically has two equipment groups, and sometimes even three.
Regardless, the new STX Special Edition Package requires buyers to first select the existing STX Appearance Package, and then builds upon that by adding the following features/equipment:
- 265/60R18 A/S black sidewall tire for 4×2 models
- 265/60R18 A/T black sidewall tire for 4×4 models
- 265/60R18 A/T outline white letter tire for models with FX4 Off-Road Package
- 18 inch Black Aluminum Wheels with Machined Edge
- Dual-Zone Electronic Climate Control
- Privacy Glass with Rear Defrost
- SiriusXM Satellite Radio
- SYNC3, which includes:
-Enhanced Voice Recognition Communications and Entertainment System
-8 inch LCD Capacitive Touchscreen in Center Stack with Swipe Capability
-Pinch-to-zoom capability included with available Voice-Activated Touchscreen Navigation System
-Applink
-911 Assist
-Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Compatibility
-Two Smart Charging USB Ports
The Ranger STX Special Edition Package is not available with the XL Chrome Appearance Package, Pickup Box Delete, or LT 265/65 R17 A/T outline white letter tires.
This new package is just one of several additions to the 2021 Ford Ranger. Earlier this week, Ford introduced the all-new Tremor off-road package, which goes beyond what’s currently offered in the FX4 package, making it the most off-road-capable factory-built Ranger ever offered in the U.S. And as Ford Authority exclusively reported, 2021 Rangers equipped with the Black Appearance Package will also come with black Ford logos for the new model year.
We’ll have more on the 2021 Ranger very soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford Ranger news and continuous Ford news coverage.

It’s time for more engine options the ranger needs a V6 the trouble with ford they just do everything half ass they never want to be the best at anything I will never forgive ford for quit producing the Fusion.
The 2.3L ecoboost is perfect in the ranger. It’s better than a naturally breathing six and more refined than a diesel. The only way to do any better is to go with the 5.0L coyote… and that’s not happening.
Awesome Ford!!!!
I disagree… the 2.7 ecoboost would fit nicely.. and it could get out its own way
Yeah, ending the good-selling Fusion is a head-scratcher, in my opinion. My guess is within 5 years of having no sedans, they’ll bring something back to market.
Don’t despair to much over the V8, Ford Australia did a heap of work on fitting the coyote into the Ranger, and a few companies loosely aligned with doing work for Ford have actually built a couple. As the T7 chassis is close to production for the next model and the covid issues it’s no surprise they didn’t go forward with the program but I’d be surprised in the V8 didn’t come as an option in the next model.
When will the 100% Electric pick ups be out ? Hopefully sooner than Later, We got a sneak preview Last year pulling a Load of train cars. Ok now we had a taste any time Certain sure time Frame or Just keep drooling at the mouth. Or is Ford waiting for Rivian to come out & see how bad compition is ?
