Ford Russia Sales Decrease 35 Percent In August 2020

Ford Russia sales fell 35 percent to 1,114 vehicles in August 2020 compared to August 2019.

Sales figures on an individual model line basis are not available, but we do have the following information:

  • Currently, Ford only offers three vehicles in Russia: Explorer, Tourneo and Transit
  • The brand’s best-selling model in the country is the Transit
  • Ford Fiesta, EcoSport, Focus and Mondeo were discontinued in the Russian market
  • All models have suffered significant sales drops so far in 2020

During the first eight months of 2020 calendar year, Ford Russia sales decreased 70 percent to 7,336 units.

The Ford Authority Take

After posting a remarkable 17 percent increase in July, Ford Russia sales suffered a double-digit decline in August. So far this year, The Blue Oval brand’s sales has been in the red during the first seven months of the year.

For now, individual figures are not available in the Russian market due to difficulties related to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it is highly probable that most of the 1,114 units sold in August correspond to the Ford Transit – the only Ford vehicle currently assembled locally in the country.
