Pretty much every vehicle in Ken Block’s garage is famous for one reason or another, and that certainly includes his 2016 Ford Focus RS RX FIA World Rallycross car. One of the stars of Block’s Gymkhana Nine: Raw Industrial Playground, the rally Focus enjoyed showing off in front of the 45 million viewers of that particular volume in the extensive Gymkhana series. Now, one lucky person is going to get the chance to replicate those stunts, because the car is set to cross the block at Barrett-Jackson’s Fall auction.
The Ford Focus RS RX is a truly special car even without this one’s famous roots. It sports a body co-designed by Ford Performance and M-Sport, and rides on a seam-welded and reinforced chassis fitted with underbody protection for all the critical drivetrain components. The rally machine rides on a set of O.Z. 17×8 inch wheels wrapped in FIA homologated rallycross tires.
Power is provided by a Garrett-turbocharged Ford 2.0L four-cylinder powerplant that cranks out 600 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque. That mighty mill is backed up by a a Sadev five-speed sequential transmission with a Sadev rear differential and a Sadev center differential release unit driving all four wheels.
Performance is rather brisk for this sub-3,000 pound machine, with 0-60 coming in less than two seconds. Inside, the Ford Focus RS RX is 100 percent race car, with an M-Sport homologated FIA-spec roll cage, Recaro seats, an M-Sport multi-function bespoke steering wheel, and Cosworth engine management and data logging.
The proceeds from the sale of this special Focus go directly to Team Rubicon, a charitable outfit that provides relief to those affected by disasters by mobilizing veterans to those areas to allow them to continue their service.
Ken Block’s Focus RS RX rally car is scheduled to hit the block at approximately 5:30 p.m. EDT on October 22nd.
