Rodney Smith Jr. owns and operates his very own business, dubbed Raising Men Lawn Care Service. But Smith Jr. has also traveled to all 50 U.S. states a total of nine times, mowing lawns for people in need. His selfless acts have not gone unnoticed, either, as Ford Motor Company recently surprised Smith Jr. with a brand new 2020 Ford Edge for his hard work.
“Lost for words. Wow. Ford came out to my lawn in Michigan. After mowing my lawn, they surprised me with a a brand new 2020 Ford Edge. Wow. Thank you so much Ford,” Smith Jr. said. Ford also responded to his message of thanks, saying “Your selflessness has not gone unnoticed. We appreciate all that you do for the community and we hope you enjoy your new 2020 Ford Edge.”
Smith Jr. currently owns an older Ford Edge with 330,000 miles on the clock. He plans on tuning it up and donating it to a family in need of transportation.

This isn’t the first time Smith Jr. has received national recognition, either. He was also recently selected as one out of 30 people to be featured on Lays chip bags as part of the company’s Smile With Lays campaign.
On his previous eight tours, Smith Jr. has mowed lawns for all sorts of people in need, but he’s focusing on veterans for his ninth such trip. He’s cut grass for a wide variety of deserving vets so far, including gold star families, Purple Heart recipients, POWs, and the families of those who are MIA. Smith Jr. also plans on auctioning off the mowers he used on this trip, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to a variety of charities.
