The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 was originally revealed back in June as the pinnacle of the 5.0 performance. We just got our very first look at the reborn track-focused variant of the pony car in person, capturing the following set of exclusive 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 photos.
From a visual standpoint, the 2021 Mach 1, in this case finished in Velocity Blue, features a host of unique styling features that set it apart from the rest of the Ford Mustang lineup. That starts up front, with a grille design that harkens back to the original with a deep 3-D mesh, shark-nosed section, and faux lamp elements.
The front fascia also features new side grilles below each turn signal lamp. A low-gloss Magnetic pony badge is centered on the grille. Low-gloss magnetic and black accents throughout the vehicle provide a premium look while staying true to Mach 1’s bold, muscular heritage, including low-gloss Magnetic mirror caps and rear spoiler.
The standard Mach 1, as seen here, wears 19-inch x 9.5-inch front and 19-inch x 10-inch rear five-spoke Tarnished Dark-painted aluminum wheels that are a modern version of the classic Magnum 500 style wheels.
Satin Black side and hood stripes are included on the Mach 1, with reflective accent stripes in one of three colors: Red, White and Orange. Note that the Orange stripes are available only in conjunction with the optional Appearance Package (not pictured here).
A front splitter optimized for the vehicle’s fascia improves aero at high speeds while also providing a more aggressive appearance. A low-gloss rear spoiler works in concert with the front-end aero elements to further aid in the pony’s aerodynamic properties.
The new upper grille and lower grille, valance, and the new side grilles, all contribute to Mach 1’s signature look and more demanding aero and cooling performance requirements.
Exterior color options include Iconic Silver, Shadow Black, Oxford White, Velocity Blue, Twister Orange, Race Red, and Grabber Yellow. The Fighter Jet Gray color is also available, though it is only offered in conjunction with the aforementioned Appearance Package.
Meanwhile, units of the Mach 1 equipped with the optional Handling Package (not pictured here) come standard with unique, wider 19-inch x 10.5-inch front and 19-inch x 11-inch rear Tarnished Dark-painted aluminum wheels.
The Handling Package also includes a larger, unique higher downforce front splitter, new front wheel lip moldings, and a low-gloss Magnetic wing spoiler with a Gurney flap, plus rear tire from the Shelby GT500.
The all-new 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 will arrive in U.S. and Canadian Ford dealerships in the spring of 2021. It will be available in Europe and Australia later in the year. Though we know that the Mach 1 will be a limited edition model, Ford is keeping it a secret exactly how many units it plans to produce.
We’ll have more on the Mach 1 soon, so be sure to subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Mustang news, Mustang Mach 1 news, and around-the-clock Ford news coverage.
Comments
Ford should have name this Mustang BOSS 302 and BOSS 302 Laguna Sega which it’s mimicking. 2012-13 Ford said The BOSS 302 was the most Track Force Pony so why not put the 5.0 RoadRunner engine with 515hp and stay true to their customers who bought the BOSS 302 ? To add insult to injury Ford used the grill and chin spoiler from the BOSS 302…
Negative nilly much? You keep repeating the same negative opinion about the Mach 1… but fail to realize one thing: it’s a new day and a new age. Nameplates and what they stand for change. Be glad and thankful that Ford is investing into the Mustang and not dropping it (like GM is with Camaro). Good. Day. Sir.
