The new Ford Fiesta ST Edition was revealed in Europe today as a special, limited-edition version of the Fiesta ST. Available in three-door bodystyle only, the hot hatch is limited to 500 units for Europe (300 of them earmarked for the U.K. only) and comes packing a host of unique styling details and suspension updates.
On the outside, the Ford Fiesta ST Edition is easily recognizable by its Azura Blue exterior finish and High Gloss Black detailing that adorns the the rear diffuser, roof spoiler, and – for the first time – the ST badges. The ST Edition rolls on a set of standard flow-formed 10 spoke, 18 inch alloy wheels that reduce unsprung weight by two kilograms (4.4 pounds) each for improved handling.
Speaking of handling, the ST Edition receives a big upgrade in that department thanks to a Ford Performance adjustable coilover suspension system that enables owners to customize its settings to their preferred cornering, road-holding, and ride-height characteristics.
The two-way adjustable suspension features twin tube stainless steel damper housings and powder-coated springs finished in Ford Performance Blue. Ride height is lowered 15mm at the front and 10mm in the rear. Twelve bump settings and 16 rebound settings allow for a wide variety of adjustments.
Up front, the Fiesta ST Edition’s Quaife limited-slip differential (LSD) further optimizes front-end traction and enhances cornering ability, delivering maximum grip when exiting corners and working alongside Ford’s enhanced Torque Vectoring Control technology to improve road-holding and reduce understeer. The system applies braking force to the inside front wheel when cornering to deliver optimal grip on dry surfaces and smoothness on wet surfaces.
Ford’s turbocharged 1.5L EcoBoost I-4 uses high-pressure fuel injection and Twin-Independent Variable Cam Timing to deliver 200 PS (197 horsepower) at 6,000 rpm and 290 Nm (214 pound-feet) of torque from 1,600 rpm to 4,000 rpm, for a 0-62 time of 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 143 miles-per-hour.
Inside, the limited-edition ST features carbon fiber-effect detailing on the instrument cluster surround and dashboard decorative elements, bespoke blue stitching, and a new flat-bottom Ford Performance steering wheel providing direct access to Sport Drive Mode with a dedicated button. Other interior features include ST-branded floor mats, seatbelts, and ST-branded Recaro heated sports seats with adjustable lumbar support.
The Ford Fiesta ST Edition is on sale now with an MSRP of £27,075 ($35,113).
