The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 already comes with a host of exterior upgrades that give it a distinctive look. Plus, it’s available with the optional Handling Package, which differentiates the Mach 1 even more from the rest of its Ford Mustang brethren. However, Ford Authority has learned that an optional Mach 1 Appearance Package will also be available on the reborn pony car.
The Mach 1 Appearance Package consists of the following features and equipment:
- Fighter Jet Gray Paint (Appearance Package Only)
- Ebony/Orange Interior with unique Orange front seatback accent color
- Unique Brake Calipers in Orange
- Unique Exterior Hood and Side Stripe – Black/Orange
While the Mach 1 will be available in 600A (High Package) and 700A (Deluxe Package) configuration, the Appearance Package will only available in conjunction with 700A package. Also, it’s worth noting that Fighter Jet Gray will only be available with the Appearance Package.
The 2021 Mach 1 is powered by a modified version of Ford’s 5.0L Coyote V8 that produces 480 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, which is mated to either a Tremec 3160 6-speed manual transmission or Ford’s 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with an upgraded torque converter and unique calibration.
As we recently reported, the combination of that drivetrain and a host of Shelby GT350 and GT500 parts combine to make the Mach 1 a serious performer on the track. In fact, it can reportedly hang with the GT500 on shorter circuits.
The Mach 1’s design hearkens back to the original with familiar styling elements including a front grille with faux lamps, low-gloss magnetic and black accents, along with hood and side stripes. Unfortunately for old school Mach 1 fans, there is no shaker hood, either as standard or optional equipment.
The 2021 Mustang Mach 1 starts out at $52,915 and will be available in both Europe and North America. European availability hasn’t yet been announced, but Mach 1 deliveries will begin in North America in Spring of 2021.
We’ll have more on the 2021 Mach 1 very soon, so be sure to subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Mustang news and around-the-clock Ford news coverage.

My 13 BOSS 302 is more Unique the 5.0 RoadRunner is a 2 year engine, there are lots of 5.0 Coyote that you can swap the Cobra GT350 Tranny and suspension parts to. The last MACH 1 used Cobra NA engine with a Shaker this should have NA 5.2 ,it got GT BULLITT with a 480hp tune and some stripes for $60-$70K No Ma’am I’d wait and pick one up very used half price then add the power and Shaker it should have gotten, Ford drop the ball on this parts bin money grab Mustang Am totally disappointed
Obviously the awesome part of this car is its better weight balance and handling. If it can hang with the 500 with 180 hp less. I can’t wait to see some tight course number comparisons. Its the dream mustang for those twisty roads. Makes my knuckles weak just thinking about it
Actually it’s 280hp less. Still seems a nice car though!
So you really going to leave negative comments on every Mach 1 article; we get it you don’t like this new Mach 1 go enjoy your live axle Boss 302 and move on already!
Seems like an “odd” color combination. Also, “I believe”, if your going to paint the car “fighter jet grey” then why would you spoil the clean look with such contrasting “orange stripes” inside and outside the car. Not to mention the fake fog light grill inserts.
