Giddy Customer Takes Delivery Of Hennessey GT350 HPE850: Video

As we’ve seen time and time again, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is a truly amazing machine. Much of that is due to its magical 5.2L Voodoo V8, of course, but the right mix of chassis tuning and suspension upgrades makes the GT350 a real treat on the track. So we can only imagine how much fun it is to drive a Hennessey GT350 HPE850 with a few hundred additional horsepower added to the mix.

One lucky customer got the chance to do just that recently for the first time when he picked up his shiny new Hennessey GT350 from the Texas-based tuner. And needless to say, he was a little excited and nearly speechless the first time he got to experience it on the test track. “Oh my gosh,” he said. “Night and day from stock. I definitely recommend y’all. I had a great experience with everything, it was great. I can’t even explain it – just a 1,000 percent difference.”

If nothing else, the Hennessey GT350 certainly sounds amazing tearing around the track. But it’s also got considerably more gusto than it did in stock form, too. The HPE850 package adds a 3.0L Whipple supercharger, high-flow injectors and throttle body, and a custom dyno calibration to increase output to an astounding 858 horsepower and 673 pound-feet of torque.

That helps the GT350 HPE850 run from 0-60 in just 3.3 seconds and torch the quarter-mile in 10.8 seconds at 133 miles-per-hour. Hennessey rounds out the package by installing the requisite badges and embroidery work, so everyone knows that it’s no stock Shelby. And the car even comes with a two-year, 24,000 mile warranty for a little piece of mind.

The HPE850 package is certainly a great way to make what is already an awesome car into something truly special. And judging by this owner’s first reactions, that’s exactly what his car is now.
