Each year, Parkers UK hands out awards for a variety of automotive segments, including the best new car/pickup/van of the year, as well as the best used vehicles of the year. And for 2020, Ford walked away with four Parkers UK awards for the Ford Puma, Ford Transit Custom, Ford Fiesta and Ford Ranger.
Collectively, the Puma, Transit Custom, and Ranger have been named the best Car, Van and Pickup available by the experts at Parkers UK. Meanwhile, the 2008-2017 model year Fiesta was named Parkers’ Used Car of the Year for the second year running.
“Ford has hit the bullseye with its latest – and quite brilliant – Puma,” said Parkers UK editor Keith Adams. “Powered by a range of economical mild-hybrid EcoBoost petrol engines, the Puma delivers all the pep most drivers need while delivering excellent fuel economy.”
“Ford keeps on expanding the Custom’s appeal, with updates and the addition of new models to suit an even broader range of customers,” said Parkers’ van and pickup editor CJ Hubbard. “From tough workhorse to plug-in hybrid to lifestyle accessory – and everything in between – this van now has so many talents it was the clear choice for Van of the Year.”
“With Ford Ranger’s great payload capability and a vast options list, it runs the gamut from basic working vehicle to luxurious lifestyle chariot extremely convincingly. Refinement is truly exceptional for a pickup. You can cover long distances comfortably and build quality is strong,” Hubbard added.
“With such a broad range of cars, vans and pickups on sale, we work hard to satisfy their drivers’ varied and extensive needs,” said acting managing director of Ford of Britain and Ireland, Lisa Brankin. “Winning so many awards hard on the heels of the busy 70-plate launch month is much appreciated, and endorses great effort by Ford, and its dealers, to win and serve our customers.”
