‘Ultimate Tailgate’ SEMA Ford F-350 Sells For A Whopping $275K

Earlier this month, we reported on a very special former SEMA Ford Super Duty F-350 that was set to cross the auction block at Barrett-Jackson’s fall sale. The truck was certainly cool enough on its own regard, but perhaps more notably, all of the proceeds from its sale were slated to go to the Building Homes for Heroes organization, a national non-profit organization that builds and modifies homes and gifts them, mortgage-free, to veterans and their families.

Now, the hammer has fallen on this SEMA Ford F-350, and it raised a whopping $275,000 for that much-needed charity. It’s a sky-high sum for any truck, no matter how cool it is, but bidders tend to open up their wallets a bit more when they know all of their money is going to a good cause. But on the flip side, they’re getting a pretty awesome rig, too.

Appropriately nicknamed “Ultimate Tailgate,” this Super Duty has everything one could want to pre-game for any big sporting event. It was put together by the folks at Truck Hero, makers of a variety of truck accessories, and it made its debut back at the 2018 SEMA Show.

The big Ford truck is packed with goodies including a 65-inch LG OLED 4K TV that fully articulates on a custom bed slide system, a gaming table, YETI cooler, and grill. A pair of UnderCover SwingCases swing out from the bed, via remote control, and supply the sounds of the game through Maxxsonics MB Quart speakers.

The students at Washtenaw Community College’s Custom Cars & Concepts program handled the paint and body work on this big Ford pickup. Those up-and-comers shaved the exterior door handles and laid down the AkzoNobel Modern Classikk Black Hole Black paint and Sikkens Autoclear. A few other custom touches, including billet emblems and copper-plated badges, complete the look.

The SEMA Ford rolls on 24-inch Fuel Off-Road Dually Maverick wheels that have been copper-plated and accented with black-painted spokes, then wrapped in 285/40R245 Dilente Bandit tires. The truck sits right on top of that rolling stock thanks to an ARFT Speed Shop custom air suspension with a four-link rear and a full Air Lift Performance 3P air management system.
