While most of the car shows and events we’re used to enjoying were ultimately cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, more and more folks are starting to get out and organize alternative meets. That includes the Desert Sky Mustang Club, which recently held its 8th annual show in Casa Grande, Arizona, which helped fill the void left by the cancellation of the Mustang Club of America’s Spirit of the West show in Tuscon.
Ford Mustang fans in particular had plenty to look forward to at the Desert Sky Mustang Club show, which took place merely an hour away from Tuscon. The event attracted a host of beautiful, rare, and unique cars, and even the Ford Performance team packed up their Ford Transit van and headed down to see what the fuss was all about.
The show welcomes all Ford and Ford-powered models to attend, so there was a nice and diverse array of vehicles to soak in. Ford was on hand to give away a bunch of goodies and prizes, and the Desert Sky Mustang Club hosted a family fun show that attracted over 100 total vehicles. Judges handed out trophies for 16 different categories, plus a Best of Show award.
All-in-all, the gathering was a huge success with a little bit of something for everyone. Participants were even able to vote for their own favorite vehicles, and the Ford Performance team handed out their own personal awards to the cars and trucks they liked the best. Better yet, they captured photos of those rides for those of us that weren’t lucky enough to attend the show, so we can enjoy them all the same.
