Ford is currently in the process of reinvesting proceeds from its sales of ventilators to produce and deliver 100 million masks to at-risk communities around the U.S. Now, as part of Ford’s Mask Distribution Day throughout the nation, Ford Fund is teaming up with local nonprofits and New England Ford dealers to distribute over 1.3 million face masks in neighborhoods and suburbs across New England on Tuesday, December 15th.
Ford Fund is distributing these face masks at multiple sites across New England Ford dealerships, a list of which can be found here. Each participating dealership will be distributing masks in a drive-through set up from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or as quantities last. Mask pickups are limited to 20 per person. In addition, Feeding America Food Banks, Boys and Girls Clubs, and other non-profits will directly distribute to their communities as part of their organization’s operational efforts.
Ford’s Mask Distribution Day builds on additional COVID-related support to New England non-profits earlier in the year including Angel Flight NE, Boston Children’s Hospital, Project Just Because, and the Red Sox Foundation for emergency medical transportation, blood donation, food and education supplies for underserved families.
Ford’s Built for America campaign includes responding to the needs of the community, including the increasing demand for face masks and other personal protective equipment for at-risk populations. Ford’s Project Apollo is targeting the production of 100 million medical-grade masks through 2021. The masks are being distributed through Ford Fund to nonprofit partners, state and local officials, schools, community groups, and dealerships across the U.S. as the country continues to reopen.
Those that would like to be considered for a mask donation can provide their information and make a face mask donation request by heading over here.
