For the most part, automotive sales have slumped since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic earlier this year. But that hasn’t been the case with Ford Taiwan, which just set a new personal record by selling 3,445 vehicles in the month of November. In the process, Ford Taiwan also increased its market share by nearly 60 percent over the same time period, reaching 7.5 percent.
Among those sales, the Ford Kuga dominated the charts with 1,949 units sold. The Kuga’s market share increased by more than 4.5 times compared to the same period last year, reaching 24.8 percent. That performance was good enough to earn the Kuga third place in the entire market, a strong showing considering it’s part of the most competitive segment in the country.
Meanwhile, the Ford Focus continued its strong performance, with 1,217 units sold in November. The Focus enjoyed a market share of 20 percent, which was a 20 percent increase over the same time period last year.
In an effort to keep this momentum going, Ford Taiwan is also running a series of special deals now through January 31st, 2021 via its “Ford Good Car Two-Part Fetch” campaign. Ford Ranger buyers can take advantage of trade-in pricing of up to 949,000 TWD ($33,287 USD), while Ford Mondeo shoppers get up to 1,099,000 TWD trade-in value ($38,548 USD). Also, in the month of December, Ford EcoSport buyers can score monthly payments as low as $4,999 NT ($175 USD) for the first year.
In addition to these offers, Ford Taiwan is also giving away a car to one lucky person. The winner of that contest gets to choose from a Ford Mondeo, Kuga ST-Line, or Ranger pickup if their number is drawn between now and the end of January.
