Early 2021 Ford Bronco Reservation Holder Already Trying To Flip It For Profit

Sponsored

It was quite obvious from the day the 2021 Ford Bronco was revealed last summer that it was destined to become the hottest new vehicle on the planet. Over 190,000 people have reserved one in the months since, which has become a problem now that we’ve learned only around a third of the folks holding a 2021 Ford Bronco reservation will actually receive a 2021 model. Thus, it should come as no surprise that at least one reservation holder is trying to pawn theirs off for a huge profit.

The 2021 Ford Bronco reservation in question is currently listed for sale on Craigslist and is for an order that’s already been placed for an Area 51 four-door Badlands model with the Sasquatch Package, molded-in-color hardtop, High Package, Marine-Grade vinyl seats, 2.7L EcoBoost V6, and 10-speed automatic transmission. The asking price is $65,000 – a decent profit over this model’s roughly $56,000 sticker price.

The seller does note that if there’s an agreement in place before March 1st, the buyer will be able to change some of these options to their liking. However, the buyer also has to pay cash for the Bronco at the dealership, which is because the seller has already ordered it in his name.

Truthfully, it isn’t a huge surprise to see someone trying to profit off of this opportunity, as we’ve seen it happen many times in the past. But what’s particularly interesting is the fact that Ford recently informed reservation holders that two of this Bronco’s options – the Sasquatch Package and 2.7L EcoBoost V6 – will “lead to extended wait times due to overwhelming demand,” which means that the person buying this Bronco may not get one of the first off the line, after all.

Too bad the color matched top is on restriction and this configuration won’t be available until late 2021 or even flipped to 2022. To flip quick he needs to build it with no order delay options.

Potential buyers should not be able to profit on their build request. This type of action causes frustration and distrust in the brand. Get the product out there for an affordable price and the popularity and sales will take off. Try and take advantage and jack the price up and this will be another niche vehicle with restricted sales. Make it affordable and we’ll have a market explosion like Jeep.
