Ford Performance Returns As Primary Sponsor For 10-Time World Of Outlaws Champ: Video

The 2021 World of Outlaws season is right around the corner, kicking off this weekend at Arizona Speedway’s Wild Wing Shootout. There, 10-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion Donny Schatz and team owner (and NASCAR legend) Tony Stewart will be showing off a new look for their ride, as Ford Performance is making its return as a primary sponsor for the Tony Stewart/Curb Agajanian Racing team (TSR).

Ford Performance is already the official engine provider for TSR, as well as the developer of Ford racing engines worldwide. This season, that effort will focus on Schatz’s 410 cubic-inch engine – the FPS 410 – as TSR looks to record yet another dominant season. Last year, Ford Performance helped propel Schatz to five World of Outlaw victories and a third-place finish in the points standings.

The 2021 season will be Schatz’s 25th as a full-time World of Outlaws competitor, which is why his car will be finished in Ford’s Iconic Silver this season – to mark that silver anniversary.

“We’re looking forward to taking what we learned about the FPS 410 engine last year and capitalize on the strong teamwork we developed to make 2021 even better,” said Ford Performance motorsports powertrain supervisor Christian Hertrich. “Our goal is to introduce significant hardware updates that will ultimately provide Donny and Tony with a winning package, and the way we plan to do that is by optimizing the use of our Ford Performance analytical tools and testing facilities at both Ford Motor Company and Shaver Specialties throughout the season.”

In addition to Ford Performance, FPS partners for the 2021 season include Rush Truck Centers, Advance Auto Parts, and Carquest, an American automotive parts distribution network owned and operated by Advanced Auto Parts through independent retailers.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. We were at Speed Weeks about 31 years ago and the Outlaws were running at St. Augustine. The Dave Blaney Casey Luna 10 car came out and the engine sounded terrible. I had just received a TSB from Ford Motorsports before I left indicating they had installed some bad drive gears on distributors. We had paid extra to park overlooking turn one so I walked down to the 10 car and spoke to the crew chief. He looked at me like I had two heads (I should have told him that I sponsored Junior Hanley!!). Qualifying – 10 car DFL, heat race – DFL!! I looked down before the main and they were swapping the distributor out!! Started dead last and ended up third. Dumb Canadian didn’t know what he was talking about? LOL
