How To Control Zone Lighting On The 2021 Ford F-150 With FordPass: Video

Sponsored

Of the many new features present on the 2021 Ford F-150, several can be controlled via the FordPass app on a smartphone. This includes Trailer Theft Alert, as we recently reported, as well as the F-150’s Pro Power Onboard Generator and Zone Lighting. The latter of which is covered in this new video, which demonstrates how to control Zone Lighting on the 2021 Ford F-150 using the FordPass app.

Zone Lighting is a new option for the latest Ford F-150, and it allows owners to control exterior lighting from their smartphone. Zone Lighting does require the use of FordPass Connect and the FordPass app, however, as is the case with all of these remote features.

To operate Zone Lighting on the 2021 Ford F-150, first turn on the vehicle’s ignition and make sure the transmission is in park. Next, open the FordPass app and enter the username and password to sign in. Then, tap Vehicle, followed by Zone Lighting. Zones can now be turned on or off individually or all at once.

Zone Lighting can be used whether the vehicle is turned on or off, but when it is switched off, the lighting turns off after a certain period of time. The FordPass app does alert the owner when the lights are about to be turned off, at which point the owner can choose to continue using the lighting by starting the truck (to prevent a dead battery) or simply turn it off.

This is an undoubtedly handy feature, especially for those doing work or trying to set up a campsite in the dark. Coupled with features like Pro Power Onboard and interior and exterior work surfaces, we imagine that it will be equally popular with F-150 owners, too.
