The year 1990 was a great time to be a Ford Mustang fan. Thanks to Vanilla Ice’s smash hit Ice Ice Baby and its infamous lyrics that read “rollin’, in my 5.0, with my ragtop down so my hair can blow,” suddenly the Mustang GT convertible was the coolest car on earth. And that makes this super clean 1990 Ford Mustang GT convertible up for sale at Gateway Cars just a little more special, in our book at least.
It may not be white like the drop-top Fox Body in Vanilla Ice’s video (or the one Ken Block recreated recently), but this 1990 Ford Mustang GT convertible is a rather bright shade of red that’s guaranteed to attract attention. It’s also rolling on a set of chrome Cobra replica wheels, which are always a solid choice.
The stellar exterior is complimented nicely by a bright white convertible top, boot cover, and interior, the latter of which is accented by red and black accents. Since it’s a GT, this particular Fox is also quite loaded, packing equipment like tilt steering, power windows and locks, air conditioning, and even a power convertible top. The radio has been upgraded to a newer unit with Bluetooth, however.
And of course, this Mustang GT convertible is powered by Ford’s famous 5.0L V8, which is connected to an automatic transmission for easy cruising. However, it’ll certainly be fun to drive in the twisties since this car has power steering, power disc brakes, and sway bars to help it stay flat in the corners.
It certainly isn’t required to listen to Vanilla Ice when cruising around in this beautiful Mustang, but we imagine that if we were ever driving it down Florida’s legendary, oceanfront state road A1A, we’d almost have to put it on and turn up the dial just a touch.
We’ll have more cool cars for sale to share soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Mustang news and non-stop Ford news coverage.
