2021 Ford Escape Launch Timeframe

As of this writing, the 2021 Ford Escape is available at the retail level, as the Ford Louisville Assembly plant has been producing the crossover since early January. But the ongoing microchip shortage disrupted Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair production for about two weeks in January. At that time, the production stoppage was blamed on a lack of semiconductors that go into a brakes control module. Folks in the market for an Escape should check with their local dealers for complete details about availability.

Riding on the Ford C2 platform shared with the Ford Bronco Sport, Ford Focus, Lincoln Corsair, and the upcoming Ford Maverick pickup. The Escape was completely overhauled (redesigned and re-engineered) for the 2020 model year, representing the fourth generation of the nameplate.

  1. Oh good, more gray. What’s up with these manufacturers? Why can’t we have nice colors any more?

  2. It’s a sharp color. A popular style trend these days. You see alot of manufacturers offering this type of color. A good move by Ford to offer it. Now please fast track a redesign of the frog-faced front end and everthing will be “all good”.

  3. Why not the choice of the Bronco sport color palette?

  4. I love the new grey they are offering. I purchased a 2021 Mustang with that colour. Ford made a great choice with this new carbonized grey colour. Way to go, Ford!
