Ford F-150 fans have plenty of off-road-capable versions to choose from, including the Raptor and Shelby Baja Raptor, to name a couple. But now, Shelby American is giving the Ford Super Duty some love with the 2021 Ford Shelby F-250 Super Baja. The brand new offering combines Ford’s mighty 6.7L Power Stroke diesel with a host of modifications designed to make the pickup unstoppable on a wide variety of surfaces.
“The astounding capabilities of the Ford Shelby F-150 truck led to requests for a three-quarter-ton truck that delivered maximum towing capacity and serious off-road capabilities,” said Gary Patterson, president of Shelby American. “We leveraged expertise gained from our Shelby Raptor and Shelby F-150 programs to create the Shelby F-250 Super Baja pickup.”
Shelby leaned on Fox Performance to develop a new suspension system for the Ford Shelby F-250 Super Baja, which lifts the truck, gives it better off-road handling characteristics, and increases wheel travel. The SuperBaja rolls on a set of 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 tires, with two spares mounted to the chase rack in the bed in case things go wrong in the middle of nowhere.
The bespoke suspension consists of a custom BDS lift system, custom front radius arms, a dual steering stabilizer, front coilovers with Fox adjustable reservoirs in the front, and Factory Race adjustable shocks with piggyback reservoirs in the rear.
The exterior of the Shelby F-250 Super Baja has been treated to a host of modifications, including a functional Ram Air Hood with an extraction vent, powder-coated steel front and rear bumpers, tow points, airflow vents, LED lighting, a painted front grille and fender flares, XL power steps with rock sliders and lights, a bed liner, tinted windows, powder-coated exhaust tips, exterior Shelby stripes, and Shelby badges.
Inside, the Shelby F-250 Super Baja boasts full leather seat covers, accents and embroidery, stainless steel gauges with a speedometer recalibration, custom carbon fiber accents, embroidered floor mats, and billet racing pedals. Each comes with Shelby Super Baja badges and a CSM serialized plate on the dash.
The Super Baja has an MSRP starting at $125,805, which includes the price of a Lariat Ultimate 4×4 Ford F-250. The trucks come with a 3 year/36,000-mile warranty. However, Shelby is only going to build 250 examples of the Super Baja for the 2021 model year, which will be offered through select Tuscany and Ford dealers across the United States.
