The Ford Authority Take

Ford Brazil sales ended 2020 with a significant double-digit decline, after experiencing a decline during each of the twelve months of the calendar year. This negative result was largely driven by the COVID-19 pandemic, which decreased the supply of locally-manufactured vehicles.

2021 Ford Ka

Ford’s business in Brazil was severely affected during the year, as losses in both sales volume and revenue at the South American subsidiary deepened. This led to the drastic decision to cease manufacturing operations in Brazil, which FoMoCo announced earlier this year.

All Ford vehicles suffered notable year-over-year sales declines during 2020, including a significant contraction in the Ford Ka, which remained the company’s best-selling model in Brazil. In addition, the new Ford Territory recorded its first 1,558 deliveries in the market.

Although Ford’s sales decreased by 36%, the general market in Brazil fell by 26%. Then, the 10% more of Ford occurred due to the brand’s lack of power and its market mistakes.
