Blue Oval fans looking to hone their driving skills on the track have long had the Ford Performance Driving School as an option. But now, Ford is sweetening the pot, particularly for NASCAR fans, as driver Chase Briscoe will serve as a special guest instructor at the school’s classes on May 12th, 2021, at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Those interested in hanging out with Briscoe and receiving some driving tips from the number 14 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford Mustang driver can secure their chance by signing up for Ford Performance Driving School’s one-day class with special pricing of $1,695. The class is designed to help everyone become a better driver, whether they be a novice or a budding pro.
The one-day class is broken up into both classroom and on-track instruction, with a break around mid-day and a catered lunch. It’s designed to help drivers learn the fundamentals of track driving including control, cornering, downshift braking, and various other skills, all from professional instructors with championship experience.
Other skills attendees learn run the gamut from proper posture and seat position to vehicle dynamics, heel and toe braking techniques, and setting a proper line. Classes are limited to 20 students to allow for plenty of one-on-one time, and each car features a communications system for immediate feedback.
After learning how to put all of these newly-found skills together, participants head out onto Charlotte Motor Speedway for a couple of lead and follow exercises, followed by 20 minutes of track time. It’s the perfect way to spend a day, in our humble opinion, especially when we’re behind the wheel of a specially-prepared Mustang GT with all the requisite safety gear and go-fast goodies.
We’ll have more on the Ford Performance Driving School soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Mustang news and non-stop Ford news coverage.
