Last summer, Ford Authority reported that Ford Motor Company filed to trademark “Outfitters” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in the goods and services category. As we recently discovered, Outfitters is a series of dealer-installed, bundled roof/cargo packages for the 2021 Ford Explorer and Ford Edge. We covered the Explorer Outfitters packages last week, and now we have details on the 2021 Ford Edge Outfitters cargo packages to share as well, though unfortunately no photos as of this writing.
The 2021 Ford Edge Outfitters cargo packages are dealer-installed options that are available on every trim level except ST. All three packages are paired with Ford floor liners for the front and rear, cargo mats, and roof side rails, which are black on SE and SEL trims and silver on Titanium. There are three distinct packages available – Outfitters Cargo – Skybox, Outfitters Cargo – LoadWarrior, and Outfitters Bike – FrontLoader.
The 2021 Ford Edge Outfitters Cargo – Skybox package contains a cargo area mat, Yakima roof-rail crossbars, and a Yakima SkyBox 16 carbonite roof box. The Edge Outfitters Cargo – LoadWarrior package comes with a cargo mat, Yakima roof-rail crossbars, and a Yakima LoadWarrior rooftop basket, while the Outfitters Bike – FrontLoader package consists of a cargo mat, Yakima roof-rail crossbars, and two Yakima FrontLoader bike carriers with locks.
Each of these three packages is a late availability option for the 2021 model year, and only one package can be selected per vehicle.
The Outfitters packages are just the latest in Ford’s push to expand its accessories offerings and seem like a rationalized way to bundle these components together.
These new packages join over 200 parts and accessories will be available to purchase (or finance with the vehicle) when the 2021 Ford Bronco launches this summer, and Ford also offers five lifestyle accessory bundles for the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport as well.
We’ll have more on the Edge and all forthcoming Ford accessories soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Edge news and non-stop Ford news coverage.
