In March 2018, the Ford Ranger Black made its debut in Brazil, albeit in concept form. That truck earned enough attention to warrant a production version, and now, Brazilian truck shoppers will have the opportunity to pick one up soon, as the new 2022 Ford Ranger Black will reach dealers in the South American country by the end of March.
The 2022 Ford Ranger Black is designed to cater to city residents who crave a sophisticated yet imposing truck with smooth, effortless performance. Given the name, it’s wholly unsurprising to discover that Ford outfitted the pickup with a monochromatic black aesthetic, as the door handles, side mirror caps, roof rack, and grille all get matte black materials.
Similarly, the new Ford Ranger Black sports a very dark interior as well, including black leather seats. Although the standard technological goodies make it a bright spot in the lineup, as it comes bundled with seven airbags, dual zone air conditioning, stability and traction control, anti-rollover protection, and adaptive cruise control.
Convenience features like the Sync 3 infotainment system with an eight-inch touchscreen capable of running Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and the FordPass Connect integrated modem will make the Ranger Black easy to live with, something urban dwellers will no doubt appreciate.
Additionally, the 2022 Ford Ranger Black will be paired with a robust powertrain: the Ford Duratorq 2.2L turbodiesel, rated at 148 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that solely sends power to the rear wheels, as the model is meant more for on-road adventures than off-road excursions.
“Ranger Black was created to serve a consumer who had no similar option in the segment,” says Antõnio Freitas, Ford pickup marketing manager. “It is an urban pickup truck with a robust and sophisticated design, diesel engine and 4×2 traction, which offers excellent driveability and technology with the purpose to extend Ranger’s success.”

To celebrate its launch, Ford will award the first 100 Ranger Black buyers a special accessory kit, which will include a bed liner, electric tonneau cover, and a storage rack, valued at R $10,000. This truck looks awesome. I wish you would make the new ranger with a Sport Trac edition. The ranger needs a split 60/40 folding seat and a electric rear window. I have had 3 sport trac explorer and I loved them. I want a ranger size now to carry my extra luggage or my 2 large dogs in the rear seat that folds flat. Thanks/
