Mike Levine Hints That Some ‘Cool’ Ford Truck News Is Coming Today

It seems that Ford truck fans might have something to look forward to this morning, as Ford North America Product Communications Manager Mike Levine has hinted that some “cool’ Ford truck news is imminent. What this news might consist of, well, that’s anybody’s guess, but we can certainly speculate if nothing else.

We’re not sure what Ford truck news Levine is talking about here, whether it’s something related to the Ford Super Duty lineup, Ford F-150, Ford Ranger, or the forthcoming Ford Maverick. We also don’t know if the automaker is going to reveal some new trim level or option package, or perhaps a new variant of the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor. Heck, it could be some sort of announcement related to the F-150 BEV, too.

Truth is, The Blue Oval has a lot of new trucks in the works as it continues to fill out its lineup after eliminating sedans in North America. There are still plenty of holes there, particularly with electric vehicles continuing to catch on across the globe. We were previously treated to a few teasers surrounding the first-ever electric F-150, so perhaps we’ll see more of that today.

Of course, with news that the new compact Maverick has already entirely early production, Ford might also be ready to finally pull the covers off that model. We’re likely just a few months away from the pickup’s launch, so now might be a good time to go ahead and let that proverbial cat out of the bag.

Or, Ford could go ahead and reveal the fact that the Raptor R is going to be packing Ford’s 5.2L Predator V8, as we exclusively reported some time ago. However, the R isn’t going to launch until next year, so we’re not convinced that’s going to be today’s announcement. Regardless, we’ll be on hand to report back as soon as we know what Ford has up its proverbial sleeve, so stay tuned.

Update: Ford has announced a series of updates for the 2022 Super Duty, which can be found here.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  4. Ford is so far ahead of the other truck brands I don’t know how they can get any better. I have had every brand in 40 years except Nissan. The Fords have been better in all areas than the others.

  7. Or…. Yeah. I KNOW… Ford already has the Lincoln Navigator. But…. I’d love to see a return of the Excursion. Bigger, better. Gas and/or Diesel options. Put it on the F450 frame, Air ride suspension. 3 sun roofs. GPS Navigation and Tracking. Seating for 11; which means a 3rd back seating (removable). Full Italian leather. Bose sound. Denon entertainment systems throughout. I’d want a V10 with twin Turbos.
