Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2020-2021 Lincoln Aviator vehicles due to issues related to the rearview camera.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the image processing module in the rearview camera may be intermittently unable to provide a video feed to the display screen.
The hazards: This could result in a loss of the rearview camera image when the vehicle is in reverse. Affected rearview cameras do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and require corrective action by the manufacturer.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.
Components: rearview camera image processing module.
Affected vehicles: 2020-2021 Lincoln Aviator vehicles built at the Ford Chicago Assembly Plant from October 19th, 2018, to December 8th, 2020.
Number of vehicles affected: 38,707 vehicles with:
- 34,975 vehicles in the U.S. and federal territories
- 3,053 in Canada
- 379 in Mexico
The fix: Dealers will update the image processing module software.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin being sent to dealers on May 14th, with customer notifications to start May 19th.

Comments
Has anyone heard of the purging of Lincoln dealers? My local Ford dealer sent me an email this week they will no longer be selling new Lincolns.
Gee, how did we EVER survive when we only had rear view mirrors and no backup cameras?
I have lost track how many times this piece of junk has been recalled, no wonder this brand is ranked dead last in reliability by Consumer Reports.
