2021 Ford Escape Launch Timeframe

As of this writing, the 2021 Ford Escape is available at the retail level, as the Ford Louisville Assembly plant has been producing the crossover since early January. But the ongoing microchip shortage disrupted Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair production for about two weeks last month. At that time, the production stoppage was attributed to a lack of semiconductors that go into a brakes control module. Folks in the market for an Escape should check with their local dealers for complete details about availability.

  1. I know FORD sells a boat load of these…. but I never was enthused about the new look Escape. Couple that with a perceived high cost and sub par build/design quality made it the least appreciated offering on the shelf. I know vehicles have a face that speaks to the market… this one says “Hi, I want to escape from here because I am not sure what I am supposed to be but I will put on a brave face.” Ford, much like GM has a design culture that is incredibly embedded reaching beyond the shared parts bin. Good when it works, very disappointing when it doesn’t. This is a ‘doesn’t’…..
