2021 Ford Mustang Gets New Carbonized Gray Metallic Color: First Look

The 2021 Ford Mustang adds four new exterior colors to its roster: Antimatter Blue Metallic, Grabber Yellow, Fighter Jet Gray, and Carbonized Gray Metallic. Here’s our first look at the Carbonized Gray Metallic option.

Assigned order code M7, Carbonized Gray Metallic is one of ten available color options for the 2021 Mustang. It essentially replaces the Magnetic color, which was available on the 2020 Ford Mustang.

The new Carbonized Gray Metallic color is a no-cost option across the board but cannot be paired with every Mustang model. Specifically, it cannot be ordered with any variant of the 2021 Mustang Mach 1. Otherwise, the color is available across the lineup.

As of this writing, the 2021 Mustang is available at the retail level, as the Ford Flat Rock Assembly plant has been producing the Coupe (fastback) and Convertible for several months now. The 2021 model year of Ford’s iconic muscle car introduced some changes into the lineup, like the Mach 1, while also getting slightly more expensive across the board, although the price increase was accompanied by the addition of standard active safety tech. Additionally, Ford swapped out traditional leather for ActiveX seating in the EcoBoost Premium.
