The Ford Authority Take

After starting the year with negative figures in both January and February, Ford Argentina sales posted an impressive jump in March. In fact, the dramatic increase in Ford sales last month outpaced the 102.5 percent recovery experienced by the Argentine auto market during the same time frame.

Both achievements are due to fact that March 2020 was the first month that Argentina was negatively impacted by COVID-19, with dealers being forced to close their doors for nearly the entire month due to the enactment of drastic lockdowns in the country.

Ford’s impressive gains during March in the Argentine market were led by the locally made Ranger and the subcompact Ka, the brand’s two best-selling models in South America. With 1,393 deliveries, the midsize pickup was again Ford’s most popular model in Argentina, keeping it in third place in its competitive segment.
