2021 Ford Ranger Gets New Carbonized Gray Color: First Look

The 2021 Ford Ranger adds four new exterior colors to its roster: Cactus Gray, Cyber Orange Tri-Coat, Velocity Blue, and Carbonized Gray. Here’s our first look at the Carbonized Gray option.

Assigned order code M7, Carbonized Gray is one of nine available color options for the 2021 Ranger. It essentially replaces the Magnetic color, which was available on the 2020 Ford Ranger.

Carbonized Gray is a no-cost option across the board but its availability is limited. For instance, it cannot be ordered with the Medium Stone interior environment on XL or on XLT with the Tremor Off-Road Package. Those restrictions aside, Carbonized Gray is available with the Medium Stone interior on XLT and Lariat, and with the Ebony interior environment in all combinations.

As of this writing, the 2021 Ranger is available at the retail level, as the Ford Michigan Assembly plant has been producing the pickup since December 2020. Those interested in the Carbonized Gray color should check with local dealers for availability and pricing details.

The 2021 Ranger drops the pickup box delete option, while gaining the all-new Tremor Off-Road Package, making it more capable than ever. The 2021 Ranger continues to ride on the Ford T6 platform shared with the 2021 Ford Bronco, although the new Bronco features an updated variant of the architecture. Ford reintroduced the Ranger in North America for the 2019 model year, representing the fourth-generation of the nameplate.

  1. I wish they were lower to the ground and had 15″ wheels. Do they even make Rangers in 2wd? All I have seen were 4wd.

  3. Ford needs to offer a V6 with the next model along with a price drop. The current Ranger is close in price to certain models of the F-150 which is why some have opted to go for that truck over this one. The Ranger is nice, but why pay more for a smaller package when you can get a similar deal on its big brother?
