 Competitive Sales Comparison (USA)

The 1 percent increase in sales volume allowed the Ford Transit Connect to remain the best-selling vehicle in its segment, outselling the Nissan NV200 and Ram ProMaster City. All models in the segment saw sales increase during the quarter with the ProMaster City posting the largest increase of nearly 53 percent. Surprisingly, the soon-to-be-discontinued NV200 saw sales increase 17 percent.

The Ford Authority Take

The numbers continue to speak for themselves: the Ford Transit Connect dominated its segment during the first quarter of 2021, despite sales remaining flat, which we attribute to supply issues associated with the ongoing microchip shortage.

For the 2021 model year, Ford will discontinue the Transit Connect Taxi package, while also making a few other minor changes to the compact van range.
