Over the last several months, we’ve seen prototypes of the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning on multiple occasions and learned several key details about the first-ever all-electric Ford F-150. Now, it’s finally time for the F-150 Lightning reveal, which takes place tonight at 9:30 pm EST via a variety of social media platforms and even on a giant screen in front of Ford’s Dearborn headquarters. But to make it easy for our readers to locate, we’ve embedded the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning reveal video below.
We already know what the F-150 Lightning looks like, at least on the outside, thanks to a well-planned “leak” during President Joe Biden’s visit to the Ford Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, where he discussed his proposed EV plan and took a Lightning prototype for a test drive. Ford has also teased the electrified pickup on multiple occasions.
Ford has previously said that the F-150 Lightning will be the most powerful pickup in the F-150 lineup, with the most torque of any F-150 ever. As we learned earlier today, it will also be packing a battery that reportedly weighs 1,800 pounds, a tidbit that Biden himself leaked, along with the fact that the truck will do 0-60 in “4.3, 4.4 seconds.”
As was expected, the Lightning looks a lot like the 2021 Ford F-150 but features a unique front-end treatment that sets it apart from the rest of the F-150 lineup, with a large signature lighting element that spans the entire width of the front end. The Lightning also features a unique front grille design, with a dome hood covering what will be a large “frunk” instead of a traditional ICE engine. Finally, the truck is wearing a set of aerodynamic wheels similar to the ones we saw on a prototype a few weeks ago.
We’ll learn all the details about the electrified Ford F-150 Lightning tonight, so be sure and bookmark this page and come back at 9:30 pm for the big reveal.

Impressive, for a vehicle probably weighing close to 6,000 lbs.
Meh.
Looks like any other truck, with some admittedly cool features.
My reservation money still happily waits in the Tesla stable.
