Here Are The Ten 2022 Ford Maverick Colors

The 2022 Ford Maverick is an all-new compact pickup that marks Ford’s return to a segment it hasn’t competed in since the last-gen Ford Ranger was discontinued a decade ago. Ford Authority has covered the Maverick extensively in recent weeks, also providing a full price list and order guide for the pickup. But one thing we haven’t discussed thus far is the full array of 2022 Ford Maverick colors. Currently, there are ten exterior colors (actually 11, though one is not currently available) to choose from, which we have listed below.

Alto Blue Tinted Clearcoat Metallic

Area 51

Cactus Gray

Carbonized Gray Metallic

Cyber Orange Tri-Coat Metallic

Hot Pepper Red Tinted Clearcoat Metallic

Iconic Silver Metallic

Oxford White

Shadow Black

Velocity Blue Metallic

Seven of these 2022 Ford Maverick colors are included in the base price of the vehicle, while Alto Blue, Cyber Orange, and Hot Red Pepper are extra-cost options on all trim levels. Other availability items of note include:

  • Rapid Red Metallic Tri-Coat is a late availability option limited to the First Edition Package.
  • Alto Blue, Cyber Orange, and Hot Red Pepper are not available with the XL trim.

The 2022 Ford Maverick is available with two powertrain options – a standard 2.5L Atkinson cycle four-cylinder hybrid or optional 2.0L EcoBoost I-4. The hybrid powertrain is rated to produce 191 (total system) horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque, and is backed up by a CVT transmission, with front-wheel-drive as the only available configuration. The base powertrain offers a payload capacity of 1,500 pounds, 2,000 pounds of max towing, and an EPA-estimated targeted fuel economy of 40 miles-per-gallon in the city.

The optional EcoBoost powerplant is rated to produce 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. The turbo-four is mated to Ford’s eight-speed automatic transmission and is available in either front- or all-wheel-drive configurations. When equipped with the optional 4K Tow Package, the EcoBoost-powered Maverick can tow up to 4,000 pounds.

As Ford Authority exclusively reported earlier this week, Job #1 2022 Ford Maverick production is scheduled to begin at the Ford Hermosillo Assembly Plant on August 16th, 2021, with deliveries beginning later this fall.

We’ll have more on the Maverick soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Maverick news and non-stop Ford news coverage.

I agree with the OP. I am so sick of white, black, and especially grey cars. It is sooo boring. The one thing that I think Ford dropped the ball on about the Bronco Sport is that the color palette is so dull. It is a “fun” CUV and should have a few more interesting colors available, especially since the Cyber Orange has limited availability on that model. Competitors from Jeep, Chevy, and Kia have more colors with a personality.

Maverick is another vehicle with lots of personality and the color palette should reflect that. I think a purple, yellow, and a bright green would really pop.

i have ordered my 2022 Ford Maverick Lariat with rapid red. With this package added it the Tonneau pick-up box cover – soft cover. I need to know is it lockable?

The sales numbers do not back up your wanton wishes for bright colors…. what color is your current ride?

If you are worried about someone getting into the bed of your truck get a hard lockable cover, not a soft cover.

I like the Maverick. Don’t need a full cab just an extended cab and a regular size bed. The Maverick reminds me of the Ford Explorer Sport Trac.

I would like to see All wheel Drive standard instead of four wheel drive.
Side view mirror alert is a high pitch sound I can not hear a low pitch base would help a lot of drivers

Makes no sense at all unless it’s fully electric. Seems counteractant coming from a company who’s “committed” to going fully electric in a few years. Another new model that’ll be discontinued in short order…

If you want a color that pops lets get the old GRABBER GREEN. It would be wild on this little truck.
