As Ford Authority reported last week, Consumer Reports recently named the 2021 Ford Edge as one of the best SUVs available for less than $40,000. This came on the heels of the 2018 Edge being named one of CR‘s most reliable mid-size crossovers and the 2014-2015 Edge earning the honors of being one of the best and most affordable used vehicles for teenagers. Now, the organization is highlighting the 2021 Ford Edge once again by naming it one of the best mid-size SUVs on the market with standard safety systems available for under $35k.
Advanced safety features including Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with pedestrian protection, and Blind Spot Warning (BSW) are commonly found on higher trim levels and more expensive vehicles, but these features are also available as standard equipment on less expensive models like the 2021 Edge. The vehicles on CR‘s list come with each of these features as standard, making them a smart buy for those shopping for an affordable and safe new vehicle.
As Consumer Reports points out, the 2021 Ford Edge comes standard with FCW, BSW, AEB at highway speeds, and AEB at city speeds with pedestrian detection. In addition to offering those safety features at an attractive price, CR also praises the 2021 Edge’s acceleration, fuel economy, handling, quietness, and ride quality.
As Ford Authority reported last fall, the 2021 Edge received a host of updates for the new model year, including a new 12-inch touchscreen and SYNC 4A, two additional USB ports, nine different wheel options, new interior trim including a Ceramic interior option on Titanium Elite models and a new Cloth interior option for SEL, two new exterior colors – Carbonized Gray and Lithium Gray, and slightly revised exterior styling.
We’ll have more on the 2021 Edge soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Edge news and continuous Ford news coverage.

I bought a 2020 Ford Edge SEL in January, 2021. Any reviews on this model?
