2021 Lincoln Nautilus With Optional LED Lights Earns IIHS Top Safety Pick

In recent months, a number of Ford and Lincoln models have been bestowed with safety honors from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The Ford Bronco Sport was awarded an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award, the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E earned a Top Safety Pick award, the Ford Explorer was awarded Top Safety Pick+ honors, and the Ford EscapeFord EdgeLincoln Corsair, and Lincoln Aviator all earned the Top Safety Pick distinction. Now, we can add one more FoMoCo product to that list, as the 2021 Lincoln Nautilus has also been named as an IIHS Top Safety Pick.

This award does not extend to all 2021 Lincoln Nautilus models, however, but only those equipped with the automaker’s full LED multi projector headlamps that are available on Ultimate Package-equipped Nautilus Reserve II and Black Label trims. These models earned a “good” rating or better in every category IIHS tests for, including driver-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, head restraint, passenger-side small overlap front, vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention, and headlight rating.

The full LED multi projector headlamps available on the Nautilus are designed to provide a broad field of light and feature independent lenses that are able to change position to either narrow or widen the path of light in whichever direction the vehicle is traveling in, providing the driver with optimal visibility regardless of conditions. The headlamps also feature Adaptive Dynamic Bending, which illuminates curves in the road for enhanced visibility.

“Now, along with beautiful craftsmanship and intuitive technology, these exceptional safety ratings for Lincoln Nautilus position it for even greater success for our brand,” said Michael Sprague, Lincoln North America director.
