Ford has been on a big accessories push in recent months, introducing a number of them for a wide range of its vehicles. Thus far, it appears that this Ford accessory sales push is paying off, particularly in the first half of 2021, as the automaker announced via its July sales report that accessory sales were up 23 percent in the second quarter over Q2 of 2020 and remain on track for a record year.
Much of this increase in Ford accessory sales can be attributed to the expansion that has taken place over the last several months. Back in May, an expansive 2021 Ford Bronco accessories catalog launched with 200 items, which buyers are able to finance right along with the purchase of their vehicles. The Ford Bronco catalog covers a variety of categories including the exterior, interior, electronics, wheels, and rear cargo area, with many more items set to join this lineup in the coming months and years.
Like its big brother, the Ford Bronco Sport also has its own line of accessories to choose from, including five lifestyle bundles – Bike, Water, Snow, Camping, and Cargo – which consist of different equipment designed to haul bicycles, kayaks, skis, snowboards, a rooftop tent, and various other items.
In addition to the Bronco, and Bronco Sport, FoMoCo has launched a number of new Outfitters packages in recent months for the Ford Escape, Ford Explorer, and Ford Edge crossovers. As Ford Authority previously reported, Ford trademarked the name “Outfitters” last June and has since used that moniker on a series of dealer-installed, bundled roof/cargo packages for these vehicles. Ford also teamed up with Yakima to offer a full line of roof racks and storage solutions for the 2020 Explorer when it launched.
