More than a few folks weren’t terribly pleased when FoMoCo chose to make the switch from V8 power in the first-gen Ford F-150 Raptor to its 3.5L EcoBoost V6 in the second-gen off-road pickup. After all, even though the V6 offers more in the way of power and performance, it just doesn’t sound or feel the same as a good old-fashioned V8. However, the perfect solution exists, and it’s this 2014 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor currently up for grabs at Cars & Bids.
This 2014 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is, of course, powered by FoMoCo’s 6.2L Boss V8, which was originally rated to produce 411 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque. However, this one has been fitted with a Roush supercharger, which raises output to 525 horsepower and 535 pound-feet of torque, which is quite a bit more than the second- and third-gen Raptor’s 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet rating. And it undoubtedly sounds awesome, to boot.
This truck is a great solution for those that want an F-150 Raptor but can’t imagine buying a truck without a V8, or for those that want something a bit more off-road-capable than a Roush F-150. Plus, the mods don’t stop there. This first-gen Raptor is also fitted with a set of 18-inch Fuel wheels wrapped with aggressive Toyo tires, a powder-coated front bumper and skid plates, Rigid off-road lighting, a tonneau cover, and screens in the headrests to keep backseat occupants entertained.
With just 38,500 miles on the clock, this Raptor still has a ton of life left in it, and appears to be in pretty excellent condition. It’s also well equipped with Ford’s Equipment Group 801A, which adds a specially-tuned suspension, 4:10 gears in a rear locking differential, tow hooks, skid plates, a bed extender, sunroof, leather upholstery, hill descent control system, and front and rear cameras. Throw in the supercharged V8, and it sure seems like it could make a case for the perfect all-around pickup.
