2021 Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring Nominated For First Ever ZEVAS

The 2021 Lincoln Aviator has earned its fair share of recognition over the last several months, including an IIHS Top Safety Pick award and a high score in J.D. Power’s U.S. Sales Satisfaction Index. Now, the 2021 Lincoln Grand Touring has been nominated for the first-ever ZEVAS award, joining the 2021 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring on the list of the most notable zero-emissions vehicles on sale today.

The 2021 Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring is one of 90 total vehicles competing for the award, which will be presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 16^th and focuses on the latest zero-emissions vehicles available on the market that meet California emissions standards. The Aviator Grand Touring is competing against a number of rivals in the SUV category, including the BMW X5 xDrive 40e PHEV, Land Rover Range Rover PHEV, and Rivian R1S, to name a few.

The winner of the inaugural ZEVAS award will be chosen by the public, who can vote for their favorite vehicles now through Wednesday, October 20^th. The idea behind the distinction is to measure consumer interest in zero-emissions vehicles after a recent poll by the Los Angeles Auto Show found that a large percentage of the show’s attendees are intrigued by the idea of electrified vehicles.

“Along with being an annual family tradition, our show is where consumers come to discover and decide on what their next vehicle will be,” said Lisa Kaz, CEO and owner of the LA Auto Show. “The only awards program of its kind, THE ZEVAS offers LA Auto Show’s influential attendees and fan base a chance to choose the vehicles they’re most excited for. This November, we look forward to announcing which zero-emission models fascinate our audience the most.”

The plug-in hybrid variant of the Aviator delivers an EPA fuel economy rating of 56 MPGe with up to 21 miles of electric-only driving range, but as Ford Authority reported last month, an all-electric version of the luxurious crossover will make the crossover even more environmentally friendly when it launches alongside the EV version its Ford CD6 platform-mate, the Ford Explorer, in 2023.
