2022 Ford Expedition Timberline Starts At $67,000

The 2022 Ford Expedition Timberline was revealed just a few weeks ago as the most off-road capable variant of the large SUV to date, as well as the latest Blue Oval product to wear the Timberline name. By now, we know virtually everything there is to know about the Expedition Timberline, and that includes how much it will cost. Sources familiar with the 2022 Expedition lineup tell Ford Authority that the Timberline will start out at $66,690, plus a mandatory $1,695 delivery and destination fee, which brings the total base MSRP to $68,385.

For comparison’s sake, the 2022 Expedition Limited 4×4 starts out at $66,780 minus destination, so these two models are priced essentially the same. However, while the Limited focuses more on luxury appointments and comfort, the 2022 Ford Expedition Timberline is equipped with enhanced exterior styling elements, a robust powertrain, and an array of upgrades that make it highly capable off-road.

On the outside, those enhancements include a unique front grille, Active Orange accents, a wider track, 10.6 inches of ground clearance, underbody shielding, and unique wheels wrapped with 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler A/T tires. Trail Turn Assist helps the big SUV navigate tight turns on the trails, while Ford’s 3.5L EcoBoost V6 H.O. provides a substantial 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque, which flows through FoMoCo’s 10-speed automatic transmission to either the rear or all four wheels via a two-speed transfer case.

As Ford Authority previously reported, the Expedition Timberline replaces the outgoing model’s FX4 Off-Road Package. Unfortunately for those that want or need more cargo space, the Timberline will not be available in conjunction with the longer-wheelbase Expedition Max, however.

The 2022 Ford Expedition Timberline will be produced at the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant, as is the case with all other Expedition models, and is expected to launch in early 2022.
