2022 Ford Ranger Tremor By Outside Magazine Is Ready For Adventure: SEMA 2021

The 2022 Ford Ranger is going out with a bang before the all-new version arrives for the 2023 model year. In addition to the Splash Package, Ford saw fit to partner with Outside Magazine to create a custom model that will no doubt appeal to camping fanatics. Unsurprisingly, the fruits of their labor spawned a mid-size truck that is ready to head out into the wild to support its nature-craving occupants.

The project involved both entities working with a 2022 Ford Ranger equipped with the Tremor Off-Road Package. While that off-road oriented equipment suite is capable in its own right, the upgraded pickup that came out of this project is designed for far-out adventures miles from anything resembling civilization. For additional obstacle-clearing ease, the truck received a six-inch lift, a front bumper from Ford Performance Parts, sport exhaust, and lighting by Rigid. Additionally, camping equipment was packed onto the Ranger as well, with a Ford Licensed Accessories bed rack by Yakima and a Thule Tepui rooftop tent filling out the ultimate fantasy sleeping headquarters. As for sustenance, the truck can supply campers with water atmospheric water from a Watergen system that pulls potable H2O right from the air.

Inside the Outside 2022 Ford Ranger is a customized cabin outfitted with Katzkin leather seating, while outer surfaces feature a two-tone paint job. Both colors are Ford hues: Cactus Gray and Carbonized Gray. The magazine’s name is also painted on the sides, and the upgraded wheels boast an outer ring that matches those colors. Given the off-road emphasis of the Tremor, Ford’s crossover and utility vehicle pivot, plus Outside Magazine’s focus on the active lifestyle, it’s fair to say that the resulting truck achieves what it set out to do: provide a template for Ranger owners who may want to beef up their truck in the future.
