Hellwig F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid Is The Ultimate Full-Size Camper Truck: SEMA 2021

The 2021 Ford F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid stands out against the competition thanks to its greatest feature: the in-bed Pro Power Onboard generator. With 7.2 kWh of available power and plenty of outlets to go around, the PowerBoost can handle nearly any task, from providing electricity to tools on the job site, to powering homes in an emergency. Thus, it stands to reason the hybrid pickup’s generator would also make a great power source for camping and overlanding, as well. Among the many concepts Ford is bringing to the 2021 SEMA Show, the Hellwig F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid is almost certainly ready for adventures in the great outdoors.

Using a 2021 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew with the Ford 3.5L PowerBoost V6, Pro Power Onboard generator, and the FX4 off-road package, the Hellwig F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid is equipped with Hellwig Suspension Products’ own front and rear sway bar kits, plus its Pro Series helper springs, and a suspension upgrade. The trick piece, though, is in the bed: a bed topper/pop-up camper combo perfect for storing all the camping gear anyone needs, plus a place to sleep in during the night.

Another useful piece of kit included in the package is an onboard air compressor, great for inflating rafts and bike tires. There’s also an extendable 270-degree awning to make the campsite feel more like home, a fridge, and a 10-gallon shower. a Ford Performance off-road recovery kit by WARN industries provides all that’s needed to fix whatever scrapes are brought back to the truck, while the rock sliders, body armor rocker panel protection, off-road bumpers, flood lights, underbody rock light kit, and fender flares protect the Hellwig F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid from similar situations on the trail. A Ford Performance rear diff cover, custom Borla cat-back exhaust with black chrome tips, and a full set of 35-inch tires mounted upon 17-inch wheels make up the performance upgrades. Katzkin custom leather seats, all-weather mats, and a console vault complete the build.
