2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Buyers Overwhelmingly Recommend It

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E has been gaining in popularity with new vehicle shoppers since its launch late last year, and in spite of the semiconductor chip shortage, the EV crossover quickly outproduced and outsold the ICE-powered Ford Mustang after just a few months of being on sale. Last month, Ford said that it was on pace to deliver 50,000 Mach-Es by the end of the year, an impressive feat given the fact that production has been very limited due to the semiconductor chip shortage. As it turns out, much of that success can be attributed to word of mouth.

When discussing its October 2021 sales results, FoMoCo revealed that over 90 percent of Ford Mustang Mach-E buyers said they would recommend the EV to other customers. This is perhaps the best kind of free advertising, and also a big reason why the segment leader – the Tesla Model Y – has become such a big success even though Tesla doesn’t spend a dime on advertising.

Ford sold 21,703 Mach-Es in October, which represents a significant 76.9 percent increase month-over-month and also places the crossover squarely in second place in terms of segment sales behind the Model Y. The Mach-E has also proven to be a conquest sales champ, as it is attracting customers from other brands at a rate that is significantly higher than Ford’s overall conquest rate.

In addition to winning over new customers and owners of other branded vehicles, the Ford Mustang Mach-E has also been busy filling its proverbial trophy case. Most recently, that includes three awards from Wards Automotive – a 10 Best Engines distinction, followed by 10 Best Interior honors and a 10 Best UX award, which is handed out to the vehicles that offer up the very best user experience on the market.

We’ll have more on the Mach-E soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Mustang Mach-E news and ongoing Ford news coverage.
