Over the last few weeks, Ford Authority spies have spotted a trio of 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning prototypes driving around wearing different exterior colors – first, a red Lariat, then, an Iconic Silver Platinum, and most recently, an XLT with the Premium Package finished in Oxford White. Now, we have photos of a 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning XLT sans the Premium Package wearing Atlas Blue paint to share as well, which gives us yet another real-world look at a color that will be available when the all-electric Ford F-150 launches next spring.
The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning XLT is one of four available trims for the electrified pickup and starts out at $52,974 before the current $7,500 tax credit or $45,474 with the credit. As is the case with other trim levels, the XLT badge on this F-150 Lightning is located on the charging port door underneath the F-150 logo.
The XLT slots above the commercial-focused Pro in the F-150 Lightning lineup and comes equipped with a gray-ion satin metallic front grille, signature front lighting, cloth seats, extended running boards with enhanced zone lighting, a 360-degree camera, body-color bumpers, 18-inch machined aluminum wheels with black high gloss pockets, and Ford’s Interior Work Surface.
Adding the Premium Package to the XLT brings the cost up to $56,774 and adds Ford’s Co-Pilot Assist 2.0, Pro Power Onboard with 9.6kW of output, body-color door handles, and 20-inch Dark Carbonized Gray aluminum wheels.
The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning XLT comes equipped with a standard range battery as standard equipment and produces 426 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque with up to 230 miles of EPA-estimated range, 2,000 pounds of maximum payload capacity, and 7,700 pounds of max towing capacity. The extended range battery is available as an option on XLT-trimmed trucks, which bumps output up to 563 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque with up to 300 miles of estimated range, 1,800 pounds of maximum payload capacity, and 10,000 pounds of max towing capacity.
In addition to these features, the 2022 F-150 Lightning will launch with a Mega Power Frunk and vehicle-to-vehicle charging, which is capable of charging other EVs, but will be limited to the F-150 Lightning at first.
