The 2022 Ford Maverick has earned its fair share of accolades in recent weeks, including Green Car Journal‘s Green Truck of the Year, a spot on Kelley Blue Book’s most considered electrified vehicles list, being named a finalist for 2022 North American Truck of the Year, and becoming a finalist for MotorTrend‘s 2022 Truck of the Year, though the Maverick ultimately lost out to the Rivian R1T. Now, the 2022 Ford Maverick is expanding its trophy case yet again with two 2022 KBB Best Buy Awards – Best New Model and Best New Compact Truck.
“The Ford Maverick’s appeal goes far beyond that of people looking for a truck,” KBB said. “In fact, its sub-$20,000 starting price, estimated 40 mpg fuel economy, and wide range of tech and safety features will catch the eye of anyone looking for a capable, versatile vehicle that offers terrific value. The all-new Ford Maverick uses modern tech to revive a segment that has been sorely missed: that of the capable, fuel-efficient, super-affordable compact truck. The Maverick’s sub-$20,000 starting price makes it easy to get into, and its base hybrid engine will save you money every time you fill the tank.”
Kelley Blue Book determines its annual Best Buy Awards based on a year-long evaluation and testing of nearly every new vehicle available in the United States, along with data analysis that includes pricing, KBB’s 5-Year Cost to Own data, consumer reviews, ratings, and sales data. To be considered for Best New Model, a vehicle must be an all-new or redesigned and offer a strong value proposition to consumers based on pricing, innovation, and available standard technology and safety features.
In honor of the 2022 Best Buy Awards, Kelley Blue Book is also auctioning off its first ever non-fungible token (NFT) that visually shows the evolution of transportation from a horse and carriage to the Ford Maverick. The funds raised from that auction will go to American Rivers, an organization that aims to protect clean water and rivers across the U.S.

It’s been over 90 days since we have ordered 2 Mavericks hybrids, and never heard a word as to when or if ever you are going to manufacture the car and deliver it to are Ford dealer Alexander Ford in Yuma we have never heard a word and according to them they have never heard a word as to the delivery status of these vehicles we think the communications is obviously non-existent and needs to be rectified not only to us but the thousands of other people waiting for your car my email is s h e b e c k one hotmail.com
Lack of communication is frustrating. The timing of the delivery constantly changes based on options, parts availability, etc. It is common to hear little to nothing for months and then one day your dealership will call you and say it is hear. That is how mine went. Stay patient, it is worth waiting for!
I ordered my Maverick Lariat Dec 28, 2021. Not started to build yet. Was to be 2022. Now will be 2023. I have been waiting almost year to get a build date.
Am glad someone other than MT see this truck for what it is. It’s not mythical like the R1, U can Actually see, touch and buy the Maverick, the other 1 not so much
It’s also been 3 months since we ordered a Maverick hybrid and have heard nothing from Ford!
In October, Ford sent me build date of 13 December, along with the VIN. Nothing since.
Ordered my maverick in June. Ford emailed me regularly on the build process including reasons for the certification delay. Truck built and due in two weeks. You should have registered your order with ford.com. totally satisfied with both ford and dealer, Bunnell ford Winchester ma.
I received my order confirmation back on july 13. Nothing since. Talked to ford and was told nothing on my order is holding it up. Just wait that was Dec 13th
His phony name was a dead giveaway that he’d be trolling.
Looking forward for build date. Know, based on reviews I will be happy to drive a 2023 Maverick
Just read my post of 12/15/21. It’s a year later and still no word from Ford about my new Maverick. Hope we live long enough for delivery.
