The 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 adds eight new colors to its roster: Atlas Blue, Brittany Blue, Code Orange, Cyber Orange, Dark Matter Gray, Grabber Blue, Mischievous Purple Metallic, and Eruption Green. Here’s our first look at the Eruption Green option.
Assigned order code FA, Eruption Green is a metallic color. It is one of 13 available colors on the 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 and is a no-cost option. There are no restrictions with the color in terms of trims or packages, and Eruption Green is pared with an Ebony with Smoke Gray interior. The 2022 Mustang Shelby GT500 will arrive at dealers next spring.
As Ford Authority has reported over the last several weeks, the 2022 Mustang Shelby GT500 will see a few changes for the new model year in addition to these new color options. For starters, the GT500 will not be available with the Carbon Fiber Handling Package, though buyers can still get 20-inch exposed carbon fiber wheels with the Carbon Fiber Track Pack.
The new GT500 Heritage Edition joins the lineup for 2022 as well. The Heritage Edition is a rolling homage to the original 1967 Shelby GT500, sporting special Brittany Blue paint and two different Wimbleton White exterior stripe options – a vinyl version with unique side stripes or a hand-painted variant with a custom GT500 logo that’s also available in Absolute Black. This special edition carries a starting price of $76,695 with destination and gas guzzler tax included. Vinyl stripes add $2,140 to that total, while hand-painted stripes tack on an extra $10,000. However, Ford Authority readers have the chance to bring one home for free, plus $20,000, by entering a special sweepstakes here.
