The existence of the 2022 Ford Bronco Everglades was confirmed back in October, and the new model has since been spotted in varying levels of camo, most recently by Ford Authority spies nearly completely uncovered. Now, Ford North America Product Communications director Mike Levine has tweeted a couple of pictures of a Ford Bronco Everglades prototype being tested alongside a Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro, a vehicle that Ford Authority caught the automaker benchmarking back in August.
According to Levine, the Ford Bronco Everglades prototype used its winch to help free the 4Runner from its predicament, as it appears to be stuck on some rocks. But what’s particularly interesting is the fact that this Toyota SUV isn’t just owned by some random person out on the trails – it, along with the four-door Bronco Badlands equipped with the Sasquatch Package in the photo, is wearing the tell-tale yellow sticker that adorns vehicles owned by Ford.
As Ford Authority previously reported, the 2022 Bronco Everglades is the very first Bronco to come equipped with a factory-installed winch and snorkel. The snorkel, located on the passenger side, feeds air to the induction box and allows it to ford deeper water than any other current Bronco model. There’s also a trap door located in the induction box that is designed to release any mud or water that might make it up that far.
The Everglades utilizes the same Ford Performance by Warn Bronco Winch Kit currently available via the Ford’s official catalog, but that piece of kit comes standard on the Everglades. The Bronco Everglades rolls on a brand new set of wheels that are unique to this model and are wrapped with 35-inch LT315/70R17 Goodyear Territory MT tires.
Those tires are covered by new, uniquely designed fender flares that are finished in molded-in color (MIC) plastic, which is the same finish that also adorns the mirror caps, roof rails, door handles, and hardtop. The exterior wears Eruption Green Metallic paint, a new color choice for the 2022 model year.

As Ford Authority previously reported, the 2022 Ford Bronco Everglades and 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor are expected to be fully revealed in Q1 of 2022, with a launch planned for next summer. A retro-styled Heritage Edition is also reportedly in the works.
