Ford Mustang Mach-E, Shelby GT350R Are Heading To Rocket League

Over the last several months, Ford has gotten more and more involved in the world of video games in a number of ways. This includes sponsoring teams and, of course, a number of Blue Oval vehicles showing up in playable, virtual form as well. Back in February, the automaker and video game developer Psyonix revealed that a special version of the 2021 Ford F-150 would be available in a game called Rocket League, which launched shortly thereafter and showed up in real life form at the 2021 Chicago Auto Show this past summer. Now, a couple of other Blue Oval models are heading to Rocket League as well – the Ford Mustang Mach-E and the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E Rocket League Edition and classic 1965 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R Rocket League Edition will be available in the popular sports-action video game starting on December 9th, each boasting its own unique features. The Mach-E is the first all-electric vehicle to appear in Rocket League and features a Ford Performance decal, a “98” decal, unique wheels, a Mach-E player banner, special RLE engine audio, and a feature called “EV Boost,” which Psyonix says “makes it electrically charged when it goes supersonic in game, giving it a shocking visual lightning effect.”

Next up, we have the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R Rocket League Edition, which also features Ford Performance and 98 decals, along with a set of one-off wheels unique to the game, a 98 player banner, and its own unique engine audio as well. Both of these vehicles will be available to purchase in-game until December 22nd for 1,100 credits each or 2,000 for both as a bundle.

In addition to these new models, Ford also announced that it will once again be sponsoring the Rocket League Championship Series Fall Major, which takes place on December 8th-12th in Stockholm, Sweden. Additionally, the second annual Ford + Rocket League Freestyle Invitational is scheduled for December 15th-16th, where the best freestylers in the United States will compete for a chance to win a real 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E.
