Ford Pro Launches Mobile Service Pilot Program In Germany

Ford launched its first mobile service back in 2019, and that concept has only become more popular amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, on the heels of launching the new FORDLiive Connected Uptime System back in September and beginning customer trials of the all-electric 2022 Ford E-Transit in Europe, Ford Pro – Ford’s dedicated commercial vehicles business – is launching a mobile service pilot program for fleet customers in Germany.

The pilot program is being rolled out in five cities – Cologne, Berlin, Koblenz, Wiesbaden, and Kolbermoor  – where dealers will utilize converted Ford Transit vans that are equipped with both conventional and specialized tools to complete servicing, inspection, and repair services. Ford Pro says that the specially-equipped vans can complete around 80 percent of the services a dealership can, and are also capable of accessing Ford’s full catalog of technical and repair data online. This mobile fleet service is already live in the U.S. and the U.K., and is available to any fleet customer with over 50 vehicles, although those vehicles must also be located within 50 kilometers of a Ford dealer to participate in the German pilot program.

In addition to this mobile service pilot, Ford is also conducting a FORDLiive Fleet Care pilot in 14 German cities. There, commercial customers have their own dedicated contact center they can call to coordinate service, rather than dealing directly with a dealership. Both of these pilot programs are scheduled to run through March of 2022.

“We want to help our business customers carry out their activities as effectively as possible,” said Jörg Pilger, Director of Customer Service at Ford-Werke. “One of the mottos of our new Ford+ plan is to treat customers like family. We bring this claim to life with the FORDLiive Fleet Care program and the mobile service vans.”
