Ford Texas Edition Explained: A Guide To The Unique Package

The Ford Texas Edition Package has been available for the Ford Expedition for a few years now, offering customers in the Lone Star state a way to show off where they live or perhaps where they’re from. The Texas Edition Package carried over to the 2021 model year Expedition and is exclusive to that particular model – no other vehicle in FoMoCo’s lineup is available with this package, nor offers anything like it, really. Unless we count Ford’s King Ranch trim available on multiple vehicles, which is inspired by a Texas ranch, that is.

For the 2021 model year, the Ford Expedition Texas Edition Package is available on Limited 302A models and requires opting for the Special Edition Package, which includes some additional equipment. That equipment includes 22-inch premium black-painted aluminum wheels, the Cargo Package, Continuous Controlled Damping (CCD), and the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package. Adding on the Texas Edition Package nets buyers one additional feature – unique Texas Edition badging.

Though that may not seem like much, the Texas Edition Package is a no-cost option for the 2021 Expedition when bundled with the Special Edition Package, which costs $2,075 sans any incentives. Before incentives, the cheapest Texas Edition Package-equipped 2021 Ford Expedition costs $69,075, a price that includes the mandatory $1,695 destination and delivery charge.

It’s worth noting that as one might imagine, the 2021 Ford Expedition Texas Edition Package is only available in the U.S., and is not available in conjunction with the FX4 Off-Road Package with the 360-degree camera, nor is it available for Military Personnel sales.

We’ll have more on this and all other optional FoMoCo packages soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Expedition news and around-the-clock Ford news coverage.

  1. I believe Ford missed a little on the Texas trim package. It should have included a gun rack, fold out smoker/grill for tailgating, custom “Don’t mess with Texas!” graphics and a rear glass Texas Flag sun shade.
